Built by an engineering manager who got tired of losing context on people.

The problem

Why most engineering managers feel behind on their team.

You promised to follow up. You forgot.

Action items from 1-1s live in your head, in Slack, in a doc you haven't opened in weeks. Things fall through the cracks.

Your 1-1s feel shallow.

You walk in without context. You talk about what happened last week. You leave without covering what actually matters.

You notice problems too late.

Someone's been overwhelmed for two months. You find out when they hand in their notice.

Not another HR platform.

LeaderCues is not a performance review tool. It doesn't monitor your employees, track productivity, or generate reports for HR. It's a private workspace — just for you, to be a more attentive manager.

Quick notes
Pattern recognition

Spot what you'd otherwise miss.

LeaderCues surfaces recurring signals across your notes — the overload someone mentioned three times, the career conversation that never happened, the follow-up that's been open for a month.

Overload

Alex has mentioned being overloaded 3 times in the last 6 weeks.

Career

No career conversation with Maria in 2 months.

Follow-up

Follow-up on team conflict is 4 weeks old — unresolved.

Built for managers who care about their people.

Engineering managers

Leading 4–12 engineers. Too many context-switches. Not enough time to be intentional about each person.

Team leads

Technically hands-on with people responsibilities on top. 1-1s are often the first thing to get deprioritised.

Founders

Wearing every hat. The people work is the first thing to slip — and the most expensive when it does.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is LeaderCues?
LeaderCues is a personal workspace for engineering managers and team leads. It helps you remember follow-ups from 1-1s, prepare for upcoming meetings, and spot recurring patterns across your team.
How is it different from an HR or performance review tool?
LeaderCues is private to you, the manager. It doesn't monitor employees, track productivity, or generate reports for HR. It's a context layer for your own work — not a system of record for the company.
Who is LeaderCues for?
Engineering managers, team leads, and founders who run regular 1-1s with 4–12 people. If you've ever forgotten what you promised someone two weeks ago, this is for you.
Is my team's data private?
Yes. Your notes are visible only to you. We don't share them with your company, your reports, or third parties. Early access is also free during private development.
How much does it cost?
Early access is completely free. After launch, Solo will be $12/month for one manager. No credit card ever required to join the waitlist.
Who is building this?
LeaderCues is built by a solo founder who has managed engineering teams and got tired of losing context on people. This is the tool I wished existed.
Does LeaderCues integrate with Slack or my calendar?
Integrations are on the roadmap. The current focus is on getting the core 1-1 workspace and follow-up memory right before wiring up external tools.

Never forget a follow-up again.
